Heritage Road – Eagle Ridge Drive Study
The community around Heritage Road has experienced much consternation about the new design and traffic calming measures on Heritage Road and Eagle Ridge Road. A series of public meetings culminated in a request by the neighbors for a study by an independent engineering firm. The assignment was to evaluate the road designs, see whether they meet accepted standards, and suggest improvements to make them safer and more drive-able. The draft study, by Bohannan Huston, is now available on the city website. Please review it and send comments to HeritageRAB@gmail.com. They will collect comments until October 10th.

Their big annual fund-raiser, Black & White Night, is scheduled for October 6th. This is always a fun event. It got its name from the first year they did this, when they were celebrating putting their historic photo collection online…and of course, most of them are black & white. This year they’re raising funds for their planned remodeling of the museum. They will be closed for several months during 2018, so visit now, while you can. Tickets are $75 each or $140/pair. Attendees are encouraged to dress in black & white.
They’re offering Golden Cemetery Tours on October 26th and 28th. These tours usually sell out.

You will hear the story of Batt’s life, his crime, and the unusual bond he formed with the County Sheriff as he faced death in the gas chamber. Battalino was the first person executed for committing a crime in Jefferson County, Colorado. Dennis’s lectures are always great and they’re always very well-attended. Get your tickets early.
