9AM – Noon Produce Pairing at Under the M Farm Stand
In addition to a wide array of greens and vegetables, Under the M Farm Stand will have live music this morning, which the proprietor assures us will “go great with veggies, cold brew coffee and a blueberry crumble bar!” Westside Detours will be playing from 10AM-noon.
10AM Golden City Brewery will host Summer Yoga on the Lawn, followed by happy hour pricing on beer.
12:30PM Buffalo Bill Museum: Buffalo Bill and his sister Helen describe life on the stage and life on the frontier. Presentations repeat throughout the afternoon.
2PM Barb Warden of Goldentoday.com will give a talk on Golden in the 19th Century at the Quilt Museum. If you enjoy the history snippets that I include in your daily emails, then I think you’ll enjoy this:
When you picture a wild west town, you probably include a range of stock characters–prospectors and miners, gamblers and preachers, cowboys and Indians, farmers and ranchers, desperadoes and lawmen…early Golden had them all. Barb Warden will present a Brief History of 19th Century Golden. Hear about a time when duels, shootouts, and lynchings were commonplace in Golden; when heavy industry was warmly welcomed, and we desperately wanted GROWTH!
This event is free for Quilt Museum members and $10 for everyone else. It includes refreshments and admission to the current quilt exhibits. Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum, 200 Violet Street (map)
