Hawaiian Quilts, Chief Kilpatrick, and Slime

Produce
The Under the M Farm Stand will be open from 3-6 this afternoon. Today they’ll have broccoli, carrots, beets, cucumber, peas, mixed salad greens, microgreens, organic mushroom blend, strawberries, honey, jam, low sugar fruit preserves, Almond Joy granola, Fitzroy Coffee Roasters/coffee beans, and gardener’s calendula hand salve.

ArtsWeek
Did you see the yarn-bombed sculptures yesterday? It’s not too late–they’re still dressed up!

Tonight’s ArtsWeek event is a Luau at the Quilt Museum. Why a luau? Because the museum has a stunning collection of Hawaiian quilts on display right now. Come see them, and enjoy island-inspired foods and drinks, from 6-8 this evening. The event is free.

The Economic Development Commission will meet at 6:30 in City Council Chambers. They will discuss visits they’ve made to Golden businesses. They will also learn about small business loans, with two bankers and two small businesses present to describe their experiences.

Tonight’s Golden Beer Talk features Golden Police Chief Bill Kilpatrick. What’s he going to talk about? We’re not 100% sure, but he has been a cop for 40 years and with the Golden Police Department for 30, so he always has interesting insights. Here’s another reason to come: this is one of the few opportunities you’ll have to see the Buffalo Rose’s new events center without paying a cover charge. (It’s beautiful.) Food and drink are available for purchase. Tonight’s featured brewery is 4 Noses. The doors open at 6 and the talk starts at 6:30.

The Library is hosting an Alien Slime Lab for school aged tweens from 6:30-7:30 this evening. Take an alien home and make glow-in-the-dark alien slime, moon dough and cloud dough in the Library’s laboratory. Potentially messy, always fun!
