The Golden Urban Renewal Authority will meet tonight at 6:30 in City Council chambers. They will receive updates onthe Natural Grocer project (site of the former Golden Bowl); status of the two empty lots on either side of the Jackson St. parking garage; three grant requests from a new bakery to be opened in the site of the former dry cleaner on 12th St.; the grant request from Foss/Blue Canyon to change the planter at 13th and Washington; and the Urban Renewal area on Colfax.
They will also discuss sponsoring the Better Block project on Miners Alley. Finally, they will consider a request from the Chamber for help paying for the horse drawn carriage rides. The Chamber was informed of a rate increase after they had finalized their budget for the year, and now face a $7425 shortfall. Staff is recommending that this request be denied.
Plan to attend Golden Beer Talks tomorrow night! Our guest speaker will be cowboy poet Keith Rounds. The guest brewery will be Golden City. Dinner will be spicy tequila lime pork stew over roasted potatoes with a side of tequila and lemon. Admission is free and purchase of food and beer is optional.
