The School of Mines Master Plan meeting happens tonight from 5:30-7 at the Starzer Welcome Center, 1812 Illinois Street (map). This is a good chance to see the new Welcome Center, as well as checking out Mines’ long-range growth plans.
City Council will start with an executive session at 6PM, to discuss buying our streetlights from Xcel Energy. That meeting is not open to the public. The regular City Council business meeting will start at 6:30. They will vote on a Resolution Of The City Of Golden Declaring Support For Measures To Reduce Gun Violence. The resolution urges the State of Colorado and the US Congress to enact laws to reduce gun violence and asks the US Congress to reauthorize the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to conduct research on gun violence.
They will consider a resolution to rebate fees for residential solar photovoltaic projects until March 2020, in an effort to promote investment in renewable energy.
They will hear an update on 2018 Walkability projects.
If public meetings don’t appeal to you, head to New Terrain Brewing. Pistols in Petticoats will be playing there tonight. The New Terrain website says they’ll be there from 6-9PM. Pistols in Petticoats’ Facebook page says they’ll be there from 8-10PM. To be safe, you should probably just plan to spend the whole evening there.
