Lots of “Green” things happening in Golden today. If you pre-ordered a garden in a box, pick them up at the Public Works Building, 1445 10th St. (map). Even if you didn’t order a garden, go there anyway. They’ll be selling individual xeriscaping plants and water conservation equipment, while supplies last. They’ll also be giving away mulch (bring your own container). There will also be Master Gardeners and Master Composters on hand to answer questions.
You can also tour the Golden Community Garden this morning (9-12), participate in a seed swap, and buy some tomato and pepper plants.
You can join a guided hike of Golden at 10:30 at the Visitors Center (10th & Washington). If you prefer an individual hike, stop by the Visitors Center anyway and pick up free maps and water bottles. Or borrow a bike from the Golden Bike Library.
DON’T FORGET TO LEAVE A BAG OF NON-PERISHABLE FOOD BY YOUR MAILBOX TODAY. Your mail carrier will collect it and the Lions Club will bring it from the post office to the food pantry at the Christian Action Guild.
