The Historic Preservation Board meets tonight at 6:30 in City Council Chambers. They will consider two cases. The new owners of the Golden Mill are asking for historic designation for the building and the advertising mural. Rick Gardner prepared a long and interesting application on the owners’ behalf. If you’ve ever been curious about the history of the Mill, see tonight’s meeting packet. The second case involves the Sherpa House restaurant. They would like to demolish their kitchen, which is a wooden addition to the main brick house, and build a new and larger one. The Board will then adjourn to a Study Session, during which Bill Litz of the Golden Landmarks Association will discuss plans for the creation of a Territorial Capital District in 2019.
