Are you planning to do the Golden Holiday Homes Tour today?  You should!  The Homes Tour provides an opportunity to see inside some of the oldest and most interesting houses in town.  I’ve been attending for at least twenty years, and over the years, I’ve seen houses with wells in the basement, a house built with a built-in mine, houses that have been subdivided into student apartments, and houses that have been un-divided, and restored into beautiful single family homes.  This year, all of the houses are conveniently located close together in the 12th Street Historic District.

The homes will be open from 11-4, and the cost is $25 per person.  You can start the tour at either of two locations:  Donelson Architecture, at 1211 Cheyenne Street, or the new Marv Kay Athletic Facility at 1250 12th Street. The Athletic Facility will only be open till 2, so if you start the tour after that time, go to Donelson’s office.

Thanks, Golden Landmarks Association, for organizing this event!  If you need more information, call their office at 303-279-1236.

Tour extras:

As a special treat for tour-goers, the new Spinster Sisters “microsoapery” on 12th Street will be handing out free samples, so be sure you stop there!

Three of the houses will have door prizes, so be sure you drop your ticket in the bowl, for a chance to win!

Present your tour brochure at the Table Mountain Inn, and receive one free entree when you buy one, between 11AM and 4PM!
