Golden History Museums Nears 80th Birthday

The Golden History Museums was created in 1938 when citizens began collecting, exhibiting, and preserving Golden artifacts. The Jefferson County Commissioners, with the help of the Works Progress Administration, were instrumental in starting this collection. A team of artists, Leila Reece and Lesley Beasley created a series of portraits that honored the founders of Golden and Jefferson County.
