The Golden Gran Fondo bike race will take off under the welcome arch at 8 o’clock this morning. Participants will be collecting their race packets in Parfet Park from 5:30-7AM. This event offer three options for the racers–routes of 20, 62.7, and 91 miles. Awards for the 20 and 60 mile riders take palce at 3PM. Awards for the 90 mile riders will take place at 4PM.
I’m having a little trouble tracking down information on this race…the official race website is full of information, but it’s written for the participants, not the locals. I THINK there will be no road closures other than a few minutes on Washington Avenue at the beginning of the race. I THINK the end-of-race celebration takes place in Parfet Park.
