HPB will receive training provided by Dr. Lindsey Flewelling, State Historic Preservation Office. It will include a broad overview of Colorado’s Certified Local Government program: the benefits, responsibilities, and opportunities. Topics addressed will include design review, the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties, and assessing integrity.

The 1920s were a stylish decade. Art Deco made its way even into advertisements in a small-town paper such as the Colorado Transcript. I was particularly struck by the ads in the December 6, 1928 edition. By all means, enjoy the larger version of the ads above!
