This Saturday (the 13th) from 9AM-noon will be the 8th annual Greener Golden celebration. If you ordered a Garden in a Box, this is the day to pick it up. You’ll also be able to buy individual xeriscape plants and water wise product. You can pick up some FREE compost (bring your own container). They’ll have Master Gardeners and Master Composters on hand to answer gardening questions. You can also tour the Golden Community Garden. Learn more….
Also Saturday morning, the Golden Community Garden will be hosting their FIRST annual seed swap and seedling drive. They’ll have tomato, pepper, and other seedlings available for a donation to the garden. They’ll also have a seed swap. The seeds will be sorted in bins by type. Come and take what you need and share what you can. They will have extra seed packets in case you just want to try a few dry bean plants.
City council meets tonight at 6:30 in City Council Chambers. The meeting will be broadcast live on the City website. They will hold a public hearing regarding the purchase of six acres of land along highway 93 from the Brunel family. The city will also provide the Brunels with City water service for up to seven dwellings. Another public hearing will cover a plan to move $1.9 million from our contingency budget into the general fund. $1.8 million of this money will go to buy a new building to provide additional offices for city employees. Another public hearing will cover the final plat for Gateway Village (I-70 and West Colfax).
