Golden History Moment
The Adolph Coors Co. has purchased most of the Golden city block from 12th to 13th Sts. between Ford and East Sts.
Colorado Transcript – January 17, 1963
The seller was the Steve Frederick Chevrolet Co. Frederick had recently sold his dealership to Chuck Stevinson, but Coors had no immediate plans to occupy the property, so Stevinson continued to operate on Ford Street until about 1970.
Prior to the Chevy dealership, that block had held a lumberyard and three houses.
Still earlier, the Cambria Brick and Tile Works had been in that vicinity.
Don’t you just love old maps?
Thanks to the Golden History Museum for providing the online cache of historic Transcripts, and to the Golden Transcript for documenting our history since 1866!
