Affordable Housing
Thanks for all the emails about yesterday’s post. Quite a few people showed up at last night’s city council meeting. Six citizens (three of them Planning Commission members) spoke in support of the resolution and eleven expressed concerns about its potential consequences. The resolution to add Affordable Housing goals to the City’s comprehensive plan passed unanimously.
Library
School is out early today, so the library is hosting Freaky Friday from 2-3:30. They’ll have games, Legos, and crafts.
One Last Night of Terror
In case you need one last hit of Halloween, you have two options. Mines Little Theater Productions is presenting Dracula tonight and tomorrow night at 7PM at the American Mountaineering Center. The doors open at 6:30 and seats are first come/first served. Buy tickets online.
The other last-minute Halloween-ish option is the last Murder, Mayhem, and Madness tour for the season. Should be a good night for it–the moon will be full!
Benefit for Texas Bikers
The Buffalo Rose is hosting a benefit for Texas Bikers (remember the hurricane?) at 8PM, offering biker-themed comedy and music. Learn more….
Craft & Bake Sales
This is a good weekend for craft & bake sales! The Methodist Church at 1500 Ford Street is holding their 33rd Annual Holiday Craft Fair today (Friday) and tomorrow from 10AM-4PM. They’ll have a bake sale, craft tables, and a white elephant sale. Get your Christmas shopping done early!
The Golden Terrace Village community is having their annual Holiday Craft & Bake Sale tomorrow from 9AM-4PM in their clubhouse, 17801 W Colfax (map). The Holiday Craft & Bake Sale features a wide variety of homemade crafts, baked and canned goods. There will be original art work, handmade jewelry, handcrafted aprons, dish towels, pot holders, dish cloths, handmade infinity scarves, custom-embroidered pieced, handmade wooden bins, and vintage and antique items to name just a few.

Demon News!
The Demon Dash 5K Run/Walk will take place tomorrow morning at 9AM at the Golden High School. We invite our Golden community to join us for the Demon Dash 2015 5K Run/Walk and One Mile Fun Run for the benefit of academic, athletic and extracurricular activities at Golden High School.
Two Golden Demon midget football teams are playing in the second round of playoffs on Saturday. The 3rd grade team plays at Lions Park at 1PM. The 6th grade team plays at Golden High School at 1PM. Please come cheer on the Demons!
