At last night’s Council meeting, the new Mines dorm was approved 4-2, which Councilors Weinberg, Dale, Sloan, and Haseman for in favor and Councilors Brown and Reed voting against. The rezoning from R1 to R2 at 6th and Ford was approved 4-2, with Councilors Weinberg, Dale, Sloan, and Brown voting in favor and Councilors Reed and Haseman voting against. The short term rental ordinance passed, though I believe a couple of non-owner occupied homes were grandfathered in. There was a lot of discussion on that issue and I’m not 100% sure I caught everything. If you’re vitally interested in that issue, you should watch the meeting or wait till the city publishes the final version. The meeting ran long, so they postponed the discussion of affordable housing until a future meeting.
