The Mountaineering Museum’s Yeti Night was both fun and very hairy, and Dave Powers was on hand to capture the magic!  See the photos on our facebook page.

The Library’s Fall Whale of a Used Book Sale is running today through Sunday at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.  See the Library’s website for particulars about hours, prices, directions, etc.

I found this on Nextdoor:  The First United Methodist Church of Golden is holding a food drive tomorrow (Saturday the 22nd) from 12 noon to 4 pm. The food drive is for the Christian Action Guild, which serves those in need in the Golden area. Canned goods and nonperishables only.   The Methodist Church is located at 1500 Ford Street, just north of Safeway.  Their parking lot is actually on Jackson Street, so approach it from Jackson.

The School of Mines Haunted Physics Lab is tomorrow from noon til 3 in Friedhoff Hall (inside the Green Center, 924 16th Street-map).  Learn more….

The Golden Police Department (911 10th Street-map) and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department (200 Jefferson County Parkway-map) are both having drug take-back days tomorrow from 10AM-2PM.  If you have old pharmaceuticals in your medicine cabinet, this is a good way to dispose of them safely.

Highway 6 will be closed this weekend, starting tonight at 10PM, from 19th Street to Highway 58.  Learn more….
