This Week’s Meetings
The Golden Urban Renewal Authority (GURA) meets tonight at 6:30 in City Council Chambers. They will discuss the new development at 24th and Ford Streets. Note–this is not the 44-unit apartment building; this is the mixed use (businesses and apartments) on the south side of 24th Street. This project was approved by the Planning Commission two weeks ago. It does not need to go before City Council. They will also discuss the “Gateway Village” project at Highway 40 and I-70.
Parks & Recreation will meet on Tuesday night at 7 at the Community Center. They will discuss the update to the Parks Master Plan, proposed changes to park rules, and the new Ulysses Skatepark. They will also hear from Nathan Richie of the Golden History Museums, who will lead a discussion about next year’s Golden Music Festival.
The Planning Commission meets Wednesday night at 6:30 in City Council Chambers. This will be a Study Session. They don’t broadcast or record study sessions, so if you want to know what they discuss, you must attend in person. They will be reviewing the North Clear Creek Neighborhood Plan, and will discuss potential projects for 2017.
For more information about any of these meetings, see the Agenda page on the City website.
