Movies in the Park - Golden Colorado

The City’s Movies and Music in the Park kicks off at 7PM with a DJ dance party. They’ll also have a karaoke sing-off of an excerpt from Taylor Swift’s Shake it Off, which is also featured in tonight’s movie. The movie, Sing, is an animated musical comedy. Bring a picnic or buy dinner from one of the food trucks.

The Buffalo Rose is having a Big Band Swing Dance party tonight, featuring the swing-era music of Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Stan Kenton, Gene Krupa, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Diane Schuur, Buddy Rich, and more.  If you like to swing dance, plan to attend from 8-11PM.  If you don’t know how to dance, go early, because they’re offering a lesson from 7-8!

Tomorrow Night
The Mount Vernon Country Club is celebrating their 94th anniversary with a re-branding: hereafter, they will be known as the Mount Vernon Canyon Club.  They invite you to join them tomorrow night from 4-7PM for their 94th Birthday Bash. A $0.94 menu will include draft beer, house wine, and appetizers. Tours of the club will be available for prospective members.

Named for its proximity to Mount Vernon Canyon, MVCC opened in 1923 and is one of the oldest private clubs in the Denver area. With an eco-friendly horse pasture, instead of a golf course, and activities such as running and biking clubs for members, MVCC has long established itself as distinctly Colorado and continues to break the mold as it nears almost a century of service to the Denver area.
