Explosions and chamber music

E-Days continues today, with historic mining demonstrations (jackleg drilling and hand steeling), a car show, a cardboard boat race, a carnival, and fireworks.  Mines’ fireworks are really extraordinary.  In keeping with their mining heritage, they use a lot of dynamite, and it’s very loud!  Join them at the intramural field so you can see the ground show as well as the aerial rockets.  Get the details from the Mines website.

Musicians from the Jefferson Symphony will give a recital tonight at 7PM, at the Methodist Church (1500 Ford St.).  Tickets are $10.
