Easter & Earth Day & Music & More

Today’s Easter Celebrations:

  • 10AM SHARPEaster Egg Hunt in Parfet Park for kids 9 and under, presented by the Golden Chamber, the Golden Kiwanis Club, Builders Club, Key Club, and Circle K will present an . It starts at 10 and ends within minutes, so be there early.
  • 10AM-4PM – Bunny Express Train at the Railroad Museum. Ride in a vintage passenger coach, visit the Easter Bunny and Spike Railyard Hound, and collect Candy.
  • 10:30 – PREaster Hunt EGGstravaganza at the Buffalo Rose. Doors open at 10:30, Egg Hunt at 10:50, followed by baloon animals, a ventriloquist and puppets. There will be a $5 cover charge (2 and under free) and breakfast burritos, bellinis, mimosas, and bloody marys will be available for purchase.
  • 1PM Eggmania/Easter Egg Hunt at the Golden Gate Grange (map) – FREE event open to all! Bring hard boiled eggs for dyeing & decorating followed by an Easter egg hunt & visit from the Easter Bunny! Easter Baskets & dyeing materials will be provided.

Earth Day Events:

Today from 10AM-3PM, Golden Real Estate (map) is holding their annual Drive Electric Day in their parking lot. If you’ve been interested in electric cars, here’s your chance to see a bunch of makes & models all in one place. There will also be an electric bike dealer there–take a test drive!

Home Depot is offering a Container Gardening class from 10-11:30 this morning. Spruce up your favorite spaces with a colorful assortment of plants in your very own container garden. Our green-thumbed Store Associate will guide you through finding the perfect container, selecting the best soil, aesthetically arranging your plants and maintaining your garden’s health. The CSM Geology Museum will be giving free Earth Day-themed bookmarks to kids 12 and under today through Monday.

Miners Alley Playhouse will perform Three Billy Goats Gruff (children’s theater) at 11AM and 1PM and Our Town at 7:30.

Mines Little Theater is giving two performances of Love’s Labour’s Lost today–at 2PM and again at 7PM in the new Coorstek Engineering and Applied Sciences building, rooms 140 & 150 (map).

The Jefferson County Horseman’s Easter Parade takes place tomorrow morning. If you want to watch, park in the Jeffco Fairgrounds and walk to Indiana Street on the east end of the Fairgrounds. They’ll come by shortly after 10AM. If you have a horse and want to participate, be at the Furniture Row parking lot (6th Ave and Kipling) by 9AM. The parade will be followed by a brief Cowboy Church Service (which means that those on horseback stay mounted) in the Westernaires Indoor Arena. Learn more….

The Pleasant View Lions Club will be putting on a pancake breakfast fundraiser at the Fairgrounds before and after the parade.
