Did you know that the Golden-Morrison area is a dinosaur hot spot? According to Wikipedia, Stegosaurus, Apatosaurus, Diplodocus, and Allosaurus fossils have been found around here. That’s why Dinosaur Ridge is here, and it’s why we have so many opportunities to learn about dinosaurs. It’s why Golden has a Triceratops Trail.

More Wednesday Events:

5:30-7PM There will be a meeting tonight to discuss proposed solutions to user group conflicts in Apex Park. Having hikers, horses, and mountain bikes trying to use the same trail often results in scary and dangerous encounters. Open Space is suggesting that the trails be reserved for bikes-only on some days and hikers and equestrians-only on others. The meeting will be held at the Origin Red Rocks Hotel. Learn more….

Yesterday’s Heart of Golden photo was so popular that I’m posting another one today. This is from the Denver Public Library’s Western History Collection, and shows a time when Golden had far fewer residences and far more heavy industry. DPL estimates that the photo was taken in 1888.
