Dinosaur Ridge is having a Dinosaur Discovery Day from 10-2 today. They are opening a new Raptor Track interpretive site with a ribbon cutting at 11.
This is day 3 (of 4) for the Jefferson County Fair. Today, they’re having an Inventor’s Fair from 10-6PM. The Kidz Science Safari is open from 10AM-10PM. Professor Newton’s Science Show will be offered 3 times–12-12:30, 4-4:30, and 7:15-7:45. In addition, they’ll have a pie eating content, pony rides, game show challenge, live music all day long, mutton bustin’, a petting zoo, and lots more to see and do.
The Golden Farmers Market (10th & Illinois) will run from 8-1 this morning. The Golden Library will make a guest appearance at the Farmers Market from 10-12, helping visitors make toys and mementos for their pets. The Neighborhood Farmers Market will be in the parking lot of the Methodist Church (15th & Jackson) from 8-2.
Miners Alley Playhouse will show The Little Mermaid at 1PM, and Broadway Bound at 7:30. You are running out of time to see these plays. They both close next weekend.
The annual Perseid meteor shower will peak tonight, between midnight and 5AM. According to timeanddate.com, you can expect to see 60-100 meteors per hour. The best place to see them is straight overhead and in the northeast part of the sky.
