This photo comes courtesy of the Golden Fire Department. Yesterday, while trying to pull a car out of Clear Creek, they discovered a body. Take this as a reminder to BE CAREFUL NEAR THE CREEK. The Creek is closed to tubers and rafters. Kayakers with the specified safety equipment are still permitted in the Creek. Learn more about the restrictions. See a Fox News report about the Fire Department’s retrieval yesterday.
The County is looking for Volunteers to serve on boards and commissions. Want to advise on Open Space? The Library? Housing, Mental Health, the Fairgrounds, Sustainability…lots of other options. See the range of possibilities and submit an application on the County’s website.

Don’t forget tonight’s Golden Bike Cruise and tomorrow’s Bike to Work Day.
You know–not all events make it into this daily post. Now and then, you should check the goldentoday.com calendar, which appears on the home page. Tomorrow, for example, the Quilt Museum will teach a class on machine embroidery, the Volunteers of America will serve lunch at the Presbyterian Church, NREL will host a brown bag lunch presentation about the Solar Decathlon competition, the Front Porch will host their monthly book club, Colorado Whitewater will host a (Kayak) Rodeo on Clear Creek, Bent Gate will present a talk on Self-Rescue for climbers, a group of runners will gather at Holidaily brewing (and you’re invited), the Sustainability Board will meet, and Dinosaur Ridge will host a talk on armored dinosaurs. And that’s just a Wednesday! Check the calendar to make sure you don’t miss anything you’d really like to do.
