Golden Library has a rotating art exhibit, and right now they’re showing Dave Powers‘ work! In 2016, Dave was invited to the Dominican Republic to teach a jazz workshop. While there, he visited the old, now deserted Palma Caribe Beach Club and local meat market in Puerto Placa. Stopping in Miami on his way back, Dave caught the Sunday Little Havana chess and domino matches. The Library exhibit shows the images from this trip. (They have a nice hot weather feel, at a cold time of the year!) The photos will be in the library until February 15th.
Don’t forget this afternoon’s 2PM “Sunday at the Museum” event at the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. Hannah Claassen is a longarm quilter residing in Conifer, Colorado. She will take us through her journey of discovery and creation from dance to fabric. She will touch on how she discovered quilting and how her first love of dance informs how she views fabric, quilting, design and stitching. This will not be an ordinary trunk show. Learn more….
