The Colorado Cowboy Gathering is going on this weekend, so you’re likely to see some well-dressed Western folk walking the streets. You should attend one or more of their shows at the Mountaineering Center! The daytime shows are Friday and Saturday from 10-5, and the evening shows start at 7:30. The Sunday matinee will run from 1-3:30.
Tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon at 2, the History Museum will host a lecture on Colorado’s Governors – The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Seven people served as governor of Colorado Territory, appointed by the President of the United States. Since statehood, there have been 36 governors. Ed Weising will share stories of the best and the worst and everything in between, including a carpetbagger, a Goldenite, and a principled politician whose name is on the Colorado Justice Center in Denver. $10 members, $15 non-members.
Tomorrow night from 6-9, the Buffalo Rose will host a fund-raiser for Golden High School’s cheerleading squad. Help raise money for the cheerleaders to go to Nationals with dinner and live music at the Buffalo Rose. GHS students from the band Elephant Crossing will be playing, and there will be a D.J. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults.
