Jefferson County’s case count page says that as of 3PM yesterday, there were 1,749 cases in Jefferson County (up from 1,675). There have been 93 deaths (up from 91) and 306 are hospitalized (up from 303). There are 144 known cases in Golden (up from 129).

The Safer at Home protocol begins TODAY. Check the City’s site to learn more about what that entails.

Everyone is still requested to wear a mask that covers the nose and mouth when leaving the house. City and County fire restrictions are in place. Clear Creek is closed to all recreational activities.

Golden Business News

Some of the stores will begin opening today. Most of them will ask, and some of them will require that you wear a mask in their stores. Please respect their wishes–you never know what kind of health risks other people have. If you don’t want to wear a mask, just wait and visit them after the epidemic is over. Thanks.

Golden History Moment

Enjoy comparing these two photos of Lookout Mountain and Mt. Zion, taken approximately 110 years apart. Guggenheim Hall (with the gold dome) appears just to the right of center in both photos. In the earlier photo you’ll see evidence of clay mining (the big white cuts towards the bottom of Mount Zion), and in the later photo, the Beverly Heights neighborhood dominates the hillside.
