This is Colorado Gives Day. In yesterday’s post, I included lots of direct links to the donation pages for many Golden organizations. One of my readers suggested another organization, not listed on the Colorado Gives site but still a 501(c)(3) non-profit in need of support: the Colorado Teen Project.

If you’re interested in volunteering with Foothills Animal Shelter, consider attending a “Winter Volunteer Role Fair” today from 12-2PM at the Shelter. Would you love helping fill an animal’s hungry belly? Giving a dog her daily exercise, cuddling a kitten, or greeting visitors as they enter the Shelter? They have many unique and fulfilling volunteer positions to fit your skills and interests! Most volunteer positions require a regular weekly or every-other-week shift. For more info, email Kristen HERE.

Foothills Animal Shelter pet portraits

Would you like to get a portrait of your pet? Bring him or her to Foothills Animal Shelter between 2 and 6PM for a free photo by Denver Pet Portraits. The Shelter asks that you celebrate Colorado Gives Day by making a donation ($20 suggested) to support homeless pets.

Realtor Jim Smith reminds us of today’s 2PM South Golden Merchants Meeting: This Chamber meeting is not just for South Golden merchants, but for any resident or business person who’d like to get an update from our city council members and ask them about any city matters. I myself provide a localized real estate update and answer questions about the market. Come one, come all! The meeting will be held at Pizza Hut, 17540 S. Golden Road (map).

The Mobility & Transportation Advisory Board will have a Study Session at 6PM tonight at the Public Works Building, 1445 10th Street, Golden, CO (map).  Check the City website for an agenda.
