Dinosaur Ridge is holding a special program tonight from 7-8:30PM: Building and Caring for a Collection: Fossils, Rocks, and Minerals. Where did I get that thing? What is it? Did I find it, buy it, or did someone give it to me? We have all asked ourselves these questions when we see something that we have but didn’t care for properly. Whether you are a beginning collector or have assembled a collection over the years, Dr. Lou Taylor will provide some hints on how to keep this from happening to you as you make your collection – or happening again, if you are a seasoned collector. Lou’s talk will show how to gather specimens for your collection and what to do with them after they become yours. Knowing what you want to collect, where and how you can get specimens for our collection, and keeping good records for your collection are some of the topics that will be presented. If you’re an amateur geologist, paleontologist or fossil hunter, this one-hour talk with time for Q&A will shed some light on how to start and organize a fossil collection. Join us for the 45-minute talk on Tuesday, February 26 at 7 pm at the Dinosaur Ridge Discovery Center. Cost is $3 for FODR members and $5 for non-members. Register here.
The Mobility and Transportation Advisory Board will meet tonight at 6:30 in City Council Chambers. They plan to discuss School Walking/Biking Maps, Traffic Calming Ordinance and Toolbox Discussion, Crosswalk Manual Update and Review. See the meeting packet….
