The Local Liquor Licensing Authority meets today at 2:30 p.m.  Blue Canyon Grill & Underground, Heritage Liquor, and Ace Hi Tavern are renewing their licenses.

The Spot Bar and Grill’s license is being transferred to a new restaurant called The Cast Iron Tavern.

The Public Art Commission meets tomorrow morning (Thursday) at 9:00 a.m. Agenda items include:

Community Proposal Update for a student-oriented project potentially located on the “lid” of the US 6 and 19th Street intersection

Art With Elk in Golden Update – Staff and the president of AWEGO have discussed the artist contract and a Memo of Understanding with AWEGO, which should meet the needs of all parties. Also, the City received a donation of $2600 to cover costs associated with a bronze maquette to be used by AWEGO for fundraising purposes.

City Council also meets tomorrow (Thursday) at 6:30 p.m. The final hearing on the 2017-2018 budget is on the agenda. Council is expected to approve it.

Councilors Charis-Graves and Brown will report on a recent meeting about responsibilities of the various boards and commissions. The two areas of greatest concern were traffic projects and museum management, which were not being overseen by any of the boards. The upshot was that the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will start overseeing the museums, and an interim multi-board task force may be formed to oversee traffic projects.

City Council will discuss changes to the City’s sign code and will review the draft of the North Clear Creek Neighborhood Plan. Both items will come before Council in early 2017. There will be one more City Council meeting this year on December 8.

All three meetings will be in the City Hall Council Chambers at 911 10th Street. More information about these meetings can be found on the Agenda page on the City website.
