City Council meets tonight at 6:30 in City Council Chambers.
- The Mayor will proclaim this to be National Cowboy Poetry Week. (Incidentally, if you like Cowboy Poetry, don’t miss the next Golden Beer Talk, on May 13th.)
- The Sustainability Coordinator will recognize local people and groups who have particularly good sustainability practices.
- A bunch of people will be appointed to various boards and commissions.
- We’ll hear the recommendations of the Amendment 64 Task Force (recreational marijuana).
- The City will consider joining the LiveWell Colorado Healthy Eating Active Living campaign.
- The Communications Manager will provide council with some media training.
- The Finance Director will report on the 1st Quarter financial results.
- Council will vote on an ordinance allowing the City to cut off water service to buildings where water meters are not accessible to city employees.
- They will vote on some repairs to be made to the Apex Trail Head.
- They will vote on an ordinance that will raise municipal penalty fees from a maximum of $1000 to a maximum of $2650.
- They will vote to declare West Colfax an Urban Renewal Area.
- Finally, they will vote on the issue of whether to allow Blue Canyon Grill to cut down two trees and reduce the size of the planter at 13th and Washington in order to make way for more restaurant seating on the sidewalk.
