City Council will have a brief business meeting tonight, followed by a longer study session. During the business meeting, they will appoint two new members to the GURA board and consider whether to support the school district’s upcoming bond and mill levy override requests.
During the study session, they will hear the results of the Blue Ribbon Panel’s study of Golden’s economic future. The panel was charged with evaluating the “Golden Vision,” identifying budget shortfalls to accomplishing that vision, and making recommendations for ways to cut expenses and increase revenue. The panel’s report is available online for review.
The Golden Urban Renewal Authority will provide a status update on the proposed new URA districts, including the area around the Golden Bowl, at 24th and East Streets.
