QUESTIONS ASKED:

  1. What do you believe is Golden’s most urgent challenge and what steps would you take to address it?
  2. According to the Golden National Community Survey in 2022, only 12% of the respondents rated the availability of affordable housing favorably, and only 29% favorably rated the variety of housing options.  How do you plan to address affordable housing in Golden?
  3. There are two revenue-related issues on the ballot in this election. One asks voters to authorize Golden to retain revenue from the lodging tax approved in 2022 to continue to address visitor impacts and fund community projects and capital improvements and to extend the full 6% tax previously approved.  Another asks for a mil levy increase to fund the needs of the Golden Fire Department.  Please tell us where you stand on these issues and why.
  4. In June, a law went into effect which nullified Golden’s growth cap ordinance.  How will you plan to address the issue of growth moving forward?

QUESTIONS ASKED:

  1. How do you envision Golden ten years from now, and what’s one thing you would do as a Council member (or Mayor) to bring that vision to reality?
  2. Many Golden residents feel overwhelmed by the crowds of people along the Creek during the summer. Do you think we should reduce the crowds? If so, how would you do that?
  3. What are your plans to support Golden-based small businesses?  Please provide specific examples of things you plan to do to support our small businesses.
  4. With planned growth downtown, including the Clayworks development, do you think future downtown parking will be adequate, inadequate, or about right? Should the City make any changes to increase or decrease available parking?
