City Council will have a study session tonight at 7 PM.  They will interview three candidates for the GURA board.  They will then meet with representatives from the Historic Preservation Board and the Economic Development Commission to discuss their 2012 work plans.  They will discuss a possible new tobacco licensing ordinance.  Finally, they will hear an update on the 2012 Capital projects plan.  You can watch the meeting live on Comcast channel 8 or through the City’s website.

There will be a First Friday celebration tomorrow night, and the weather should be lovely for it.  It’s not a street fair, but there will be live music in front of Spirits in the Wind, the Quilt Museum, and Golden Sweets.  Spirits in the Wind will have a visiting glass artist to celebrate the opening of their new show, “Functional and Effective Glass.”  The Golden Quilt Company will host their monthly “Quilt till U Wilt” gathering.  The Ace Hi Tavern will have $1.50 pints, $5.50 pitchers, and $1 hot dogs.  And, as usual, there will be free carriage rides!
