The October 30, 1980 Golden Transcript mentioned a survey that the City's Planning Department had sent to 2000 residents. Early responses included the following comments:
- Golden should hold bake sales rather than levy taxes
- Golden needs facelifting.
- The power structures of Adolph Coors Co and Colorado School of Mines are too great.
- Too many dogs are running loose.
- City should be renamed Golden Coors Town.
- Golden is being spoiled by junkie development.
- City officials are allowing a few developers to have almost anything they want.
- Golden has excellent services.
Many thanks to an anonymous donor for sponsoring Golden History Moments for the month of October.
