Charity, History, and Activities – Part 2

Again, in the pre-holiday spirit, here’s a local giving option:

The “Golden Senior Santa” program provides holiday gifts to more than 100 local seniors. The program uses an “angel tree” that has paper tags with the name of a senior and a gift they have requested. Most of these people are financially challenged, homebound and/or without family nearby. If you’re looking for a way to make a difference during the holidays, please consider Golden Senior Santa. Tags will be available at the following locations, and unwrapped gifts with the tag should be returned by December 11:
Connects Workspace
Windy Saddle Coffee
Launch Espresso, Food & Spirits
Symmetry 360

Golden History du Jour:
Mitchell Elementary used to be located in the historic downtown, on 12th Street. The building shown in the top photo was built in the 1930s and demolished in about 1998. The lower photo is the same location now, from Google Street View.
