The Golden Chamber’s Buffalo Bill Days Luncheon happens this Thursday from 11:30-1PM. This event is always a blast! The Westernaires will perform a FREE Western Heritage Show tomorrow (July 25th) at 11AM and again at 1PM at Fort Westernaire (that’s adjacent to the Jeffco Fairgrounds). You’ll see ponies, trick riders, and a lot of fast horses! Learn more….
The Mobility and Transportation Advisory Board will meet at 6PM tonight in City Council Chambers. They will discuss a request for signage on Lookout Mountain Road, review the walkability project list, and receive an update on the North Washington Avenue project. They will discuss creating a Transportation Master Plan. They will discuss raised crosswalks. Finally, they will review a proposed change to the municipal code for traffic calming. There is no meeting packet, so you’ll need to watch the meeting to learn more about these topics.
The Golden Library’s Tattoo Talk will run from 6-7 this evening. End the taboo over tattoos. Golden tattoo artists answer your burning questions and dispel the myths about the art of ink. Tomorrow night (Weds the 25th) from 6-7PM, the First Baptist Church will host Public Square at Higher Grounds Cafe (803 14th Street, Suite B – map). This month’s topic is Morality (What makes something right or wrong?) An open dialogue on topics that intersect faith and culture. Everyone is welcome, and a variety of perspectives are commonly shared, though the leader will wrap up the conversation with a summary of the biblical perspective on the topic. Jefferson County, which surrounds and includes Golden, is looking for new members for its boards and commissions. They remind us that “Public involvement is fundamental to good government, and service through Jefferson County’s volunteer boards and commissions is an effective way for citizens to provide valuable input and make a positive impact to our community. The Board of County Commissioners appoints more than 300 citizens to serve on boards and commissions covering a wide variety of issues.” They will accept applications through August 1st.
