Tonight at the Mountaineering Center, Teton Gravity Research is hosting the premiere of their new feature length ski and snowboard film, Tight Loose.  There will be a giveaways and a raffle for schwag, all proceeds to benefit the Alpine Rescue Team.  Doors open at 7 and the movie will be shown at 8.  Tickets.

Looks like the deep freeze is over for now–high 40s today and predicted high of 50 on Saturday.  Tomorrow should be a delightful day to attend the parade and enjoy the Olde Golden Christmas events downtown.  (As always–thank you to the Golden Chamber of Commerce for organizing all these events!)

Breakfast with Santa

Tomorrow morning is the ever-popular Pancakes with Santa breakfast.  This year it’s being held at the Blue Canyon Bar & Grill, 1224 Washington Avenue.  For $12 (kids) or $15 (adults) you’ll enjoy pancakes with Santa, dancing with elves, hanging out with Buffalo Bill and Annie Oakley and interactive Christmas story time with The Golden Library elves.  Includes pancakes, orange juice, and coffee.  Fun and hands-on activities will follow a breakfast buffet.  A goodie bag will be provided for each child.  Buy tickets online.

The parade will kick off at 10:30 and will run along Washington Avenue from 10th to 13th Streets.  It lasts for about 30 minutes.  Expect to see cowboys on horses, floats, marching bands, old cars, elves on unicycles, the Grinch in his corvette, and, of course, Santa Claus.  The parade winds down Washington Avenue with lots of activities before and after, including snappy barbershop quartets, hot cider, Victorian carolers, and antique fire trucks.

The Golden Hayride will be offering free rides and caroling for an hour after the parade, starting in the parking lot between the Clear Creek History Park and the Golden Hotel.  The Newfoundland Dog Cart Rides will be operating in that same lot from noon – 3.
