Center for Railroad Photography & Art Winners

Every year, the Center for Railroad Photography & Art holds a contest that attracts some of today’s finest and most creative photographers. Those who placed in this year’s program will have their photographs displayed at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden into 2023. The Museum’s goal is to showcase not only Colorado’s rich railroad history, but also the many creative people—around the world—who keep the spirit of railroading alive and well in the 21st century.

Beebe and Clegg: Their Enduring Photographic Legacy

This exhibit focuses on Lucius Beebe who—joined in 1941 by his life partner Charles Clegg—introduced railroad photography and the world of railroading to popular audiences in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. Employing dramatic images and sweeping promotional strategies, this dynamic duo created more than 30 books on railroading and Western Americana, demonstrating that the railroad serves the nation as an icon of the American experience.

NORTHEAST GALLERY
Thorns & Spikes | The 4 Common Corners

(through July 20, 2024)
It is amazing to see what comes from a creative group of people challenging each other to create original quilts for a theme. They take 4 months to develop and create their work for each theme. This exhibit is the result of the THEME challenge "Thorns and Spikes" for a group who all live in the Common 4 Corner states, and the only rule is that their work represents these states.

Rental Registry Listening Session

When: 3:30-4:30PM
Where: City Hall Council Chambers, 911 10th Street, Golden, CO

Join us for any one of three public Rental Registry Listening Sessions being held at the Golden Community Center.

The purpose of a rental registry is to create and maintain a comprehensive list of long-term rental properties and relevant contact information of landlords, tenants, and property managers. This information would enable swift and effective communication from city staff in emergencies or for official city matters related to rental properties, and help the City gain valuable insight into the long-term rental properties, including aspects of health and safety, transit, and affordability.

Each listening session provides an opportunity for community members particularly tenants, landlords, and property managers, to learn more about and provide feedback on implementing a rental registry in Golden. The City is hosting listening sessions on three separate dates and times to accommodate different schedules, so please come to the session that works best for you:

  • Wednesday, April 10, 6 – 7 p.m.
  • Friday, April 26, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 9, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
