This is suitable for all ages.

The Golden History Museum is hosting a lecture tonight from 6-7:30. Dennis Potter, retired Captain with Jefferson County Sherriff’s Office, will tell us about Golden and the Mob War, 1939-1973.
The specter of organized crime and mob violence came to Golden in 1939 when 25 mobsters surrendered to the Sheriff following a raid on the LaPalmarte Restaurant on West 38th Avenue. The rise in organized crime was confirmed in 1963 when mobster Harold “Murph” Cohen was found floating face down in a small lake in Golden. Mob rule existed until 1973 when the last racketeer was brought to justice and the last slot machine was donated to Golden History Museum & Park.
Dennis Potter always gives a great lecture. I’m looking forward to it. Since the museum is closed right now for remodeling, the lecture will be at the Community Center, 1470 10th St. (map).
Bell Middle School has an Orchestra and Choir Concert at 6:30 tonight and a Band Concert at 7:30.
