The Library is hosting an event for teens at 3 this afternoon: Bone(less) appétit! Spineless specimens require you to have a strong “backbone” to explore the world of insects with an unexpected sense—taste! Discover the role of insects in exotic diets as you ‘crunch!’ your way around the world. Presented by the Butterfly Pavilion (http://www.butterflies.org/?gclid=CI6Mo8Xd5b0CFa5DMgodRyIACA). Space is limited at these events. Come early to get a spot! For teens in 6th-12th grade.
Tonight’s Golden Bicycle Cruise should be fun! Beer sales start at 6, and the ride starts at about 7. The Golden Civic Foundation sponsors this event and local non-profit organizations help with set-up and tear-down. The Foundation donates the proceeds of the beer sales to the non-profits who provide the volunteers. Tonight’s volunteers are from Leadership Golden.
Are you planning on taking advantage of Bike to Work Day tomorrow (Wednesday, June 25th)? The City will host a bike to work station that day from 6:30 to 9 a.m. on Washington Avenue in front of the Visitor’s Center (10th and Washington). Stop by for refreshments, breakfast food and lots of giveaways! Cyclists will also have the chance to enter a free drawing to win a Specialized Sirrus Elite unisex commuter road bike. Items were purchased from Peak Cycles in Golden, thanks to a grant from The Denver Foundation and the Kaiser Permanente fund. For questions regarding the station, contact Nick Eagleson in the Planning Division at 303-384-8096.
