This is the weekend that we celebrate Buffalo Bill’s birthday. The place to go today is the Rock Rest Lodge, where Monarch Productions is hosting a bash from 11AM-3PM. They’ll have free admission, music, contest, prizes, and birthday cake. Tomorrow’s birthday party takes place up on Lookout Mountain, at the Buffalo Bill Museum from noon till 4. Miners Alley Children’s Theater will perform Robin Hood at 11 and 1. This production features several of the old gang from the Heritage Square Music Hall, so if you’ve been missing them, don’t miss this play! It runs through next weekend.
This is the final day for the Colorado Environmental Film Festival. They’ll be showing films from 11AM-9PM at the Mountaineering Center. They also have an “EcoExpo” from 10AM-7PM. Here’s a scoop: the 7PM movie in the Foss Auditorium, Poisoning Paradise, was directed by Keely Shaye Brosnan. She’s married to former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan…and they’re both expected to be there tonight!
Looking for some live music? The Buffalo Rose is hosting a benefit for Joseph’s Journey today from noon-9PM, including music by Ryan Chrys and the Rough Cuts and a live auction. The proceeds will provide wilderness experiences to children with terminal and life-threatening illnesses. Golden Moon Speakeasy has Lake Mary from 8-11PM. For do-it-yourselfers, the Ace Hi has Karaoke starting at 9PM.
