9AM -6PM The Fall Whale of a Used Book Sale is open at the Fairgrounds today. Early bird admission is available at 8AM for $10. We went last night, for the Friends preview, and came home with approximately half a ton of Civil War and local history books, plus a few DVDs. Volunteers restock the tables constantly, so you can go three days in a row and see a different selection every day.
Mines Homecoming Events:
The School of Mines has a full day of hikes, hospitality, tours, and spectator sports lines lined up for visiting alumni, culminating in a bonfire and a lighting of the M ceremony at 8PM in Q Lot.
12PM Foothills Art Center is having their Art Book Club today. The book this time is de Kooning: An American Master by Mark Stevens. The cost to attend is $8 for nonmembers and FREE for members (not including book). Bring a sack lunch.
7:30PM Tonight is the final performance of Once at Miners Alley Playhouse. The play was so popular that they extended the run, but this is it. They are sold out, but if you still want to see it, show up at the playhouse between 6:30 and 7:30. There are usually some last-minute cancellations.
8PM The Buffalo Rose is having their Halloween Bash, featuring Float Like A Buffalo and Los Cheesies. Wear a costume–they’re having a contest! Buy tickets online for $13 or at the door for $15.
