6:30PM The Historic Preservation Board will meet in City Council Chambers. They will consider, for the second time, a plan to replace the single story insurance office at 21st and Ford Streets with a two story commercial building on Ford and five two story townhouses on 21st. The Board is being asked to certify that the project is appropriate for the East Street Historic District. Last month, the Board indicated that the design in no way blended with the adjacent residential district, and asked the developer to try to improve the transition. In response, this month’s version of the plan incorporated pitched roofs, smaller rooftop decks, and small front porches. Learn more….
