Costume Sale and Dance Shoe Exchange

August 25, 2017

Dance Shoe and Costume Sale

Tomorrow (Saturday August 26th) from 11AM-2PM, there will be a costume sale and dance shoe exchange at the Golden Community Center!

Fabulous used costumes from previous dance performances, along with some new ones, will be sold at very low prices ($3, $5, $10). It’s a great time to supplement your kiddos’ costume boxes or prepare for Halloween! And if your children’s feet have grown or they are new to the dance program, save money by exchanging older tap, ballet, or jazz shoes for someone else’s larger size. A small selection of new dance shoes and tights will also be available for sale.

Please plan to pay by cash or personal check, as we don’t know if we can accept credit card payments. All proceeds will benefit the Community Center’s Golden Dance Arts and Preschool programs.

Golden High School Chili Cook-Off

February 22, 2017

Golden High School Chili CookOff

Golden High School PTSA will host their annual Chili Cook Off and Silent Auction tonight (Thursday February 23rd) from 6-8:30 at the High School – 701 24th Street, Golden, CO (map).

This major fundraiser of the year supports programs such as Class Room, School, Teacher, Staff and Student Grants, providing much needed supplies, equipment, and educational activities; Senior Scholarships; the Reflections Art Program; and a safe fun venue for After Prom held at the Golden Recreation Center. Awards will be given to the top chili in each of four categories: green, red, white, and vegetarian. If you like chili but don’t want to cook, come on down and taste as much chili as you can, then vote on your favorite. Tasters can buy a ticket, $5 in advance online or $7 at the door.

Then find great deals at the Silent Auction: gift certificates to your favorite restaurants, tickets to sporting events, and more. We have manicures, auto and other services, and even bid on one of our GHS parking spots right up front and marked for the Silent Auction winner – great for your student driver. This is GHS’s major fundraiser of the year; it’s fun and entertaining. Last year we funded ten scholarships and over $3000 in requests for equipment and supplies that went directly into our classrooms.
