The Golden Giddyup Mountain Bike Race will be happening today, starting at 7:30, and it will be celebrated this afternoon in Lions Park (map). Whether you’re riding the Giddyup event or not, it will be a fun day of bluegrass, beers, and bikes at Lions Park on Sunday afternoon, with dozens of great bike brands displaying their wares, and fun for all ages. The Expo will be set up in Lions Park from 10-6, the Beer Garden & Lunch will be open from 11-4, and Rapidgrass will play from 1:30-3 and again from 4:30-5:30. Golden Real Estate will have lots of electric cars on hand today between 10 and 3, so if you’ve been thinking about buying one, this is a good opportunity to see a bunch of them all in one place, talk to their owners, and ride in them.

At tomorrow night’s GURA meeting, the board will discuss a possible redevelopment project on Colfax. Confluence–the company that built the 8th Street Apartments and proposed a commercial “dormitory” building across from Safeway–is trying to acquire property on West Colfax.
