Grandmas on Strike
12-1PM Golden’s Grandmas plan to continue their protests about climate change every Friday for the foreseeable future. They have announced “Jane Fonda has to go film Grace and Frankie, Greta Thunberg and the kids have to go back to school. Grandmas take over!” They will be at the Buffalo Bill statue (10th and Washington) every Friday from noon to 1PM. They are part of the Fridays for Future movement. For more information, contact Carolyn Grenier (415-302-0636).
4:30-10:30PM The UllrGrass music festival will be going on in Parfet Park for the next three days. The event is named in honor of the Norse God of Winter: Ullr. Many of the attendees like to dress in Viking fantasy outfits, so expect to see lots of horned hats downtown this weekend.
7:30PM Opening night at Miners Alley Playhouse: Frankie & Johnny in the Clair de Lune. If you attend tonight, you can join the opening night party after the play, with a fabulous buffet catered by the Old Capitol Grill! As of midnight last night, there were still 12 tickets available for tonight.
This play is as raw as it is romantic, as visceral as it is vibrant, and as funny as it is breathtaking. When a diner waitress and a short order cook meet for a night of fiery passion, they expect a return to loneliness. But as desire turns into the possibility of love, they realize that true connection means being unafraid to reach for the moon. *Rated R for Brief Nudity*
