The big event today is the Golden Chamber’s Knock Your Boots Off Chili Cook-Off and Beer Tasting. This takes place in Parfet Park (10th and Washington), and includes 30 chilis, 90 beers, and a live show by Buckstein! A portion of the proceeds goes towards the Golden Chamber of Commerce’s Scholarship Fund for Golden High School and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Dinosaur Ridge will be celebrating Girl Scout Day & National Fossil Day from 9AM-3PM. Girl Scouts of all ages can walk where dinosaurs once roamed while fulfilling badge requirements. Experienced geoscientists will explain fossil footprints, show dinosaur bones, and make ancient Colorado come to life! Representatives from local STEM-focused organizations will lead hands-on activities and Girl Scouts can work toward earning merit badges. During this event, we’re recognizing National Fossil Day, so come learn about fossils and celebrate.

There’s a Golden City Historic Ghost Tour & Pub Crawl tonight from 7:15-10PM. Stories come to life as you meet the ghosts who haunt the streets of Old Golden City. You will feel the energy of Golden’s darker past while enjoying some of the best pubs and saloons in town! This tour is for age 21 and over. You can chose to drink or not on the tour, that is completely up to your discretion as alcohol is not included in the ticket price. We meet in front of the Dove Inn Bed & Breakfast at 711 14th St, (Corner of 14th Street & Prospectors Alley) at 7:15 PM. The Pub Crawl starts at 7:30 PM and takes about 2 1/2 hours and usually ends around 10 PM. Food is available at the final destination if you’ve worked up an appetite (not included in the ticket price). The tour will take place rain or shine, so please dress accordingly – we will be walking to our locations, so take that into account as well. If you’re feeling spooky, dress up! Tickets are not refundable.
