The Golden Optimists Club is awesome: people give them old bicycles and they fix them up and give them  to people who need them.  When they needed a new location for their shop about a year ago, they talked to Jeffco Schools and set up a great deal with the Connections Learning Center at 1200 Johnson Road.  The Optimists moved their workshop to the school grounds, and students can now learn how to fix bicycles–what a great life skill!

The Optimists have an open house this afternoon for people who want to learn more or might want to get involved in the program.  Don’t know how to fix a bike?  That’s OK–they need lots of different skills, including organization, working with kids, communications, and fundraising…or they’ll teach you how to fix bikes!  The open house is this afternoon (Saturday, February 3rd) from 1-5PM at 1200 Johnson Road, Golden, CO (map).

Miners Alley Children’s Theater opens their new production of Pied Piper of Hamelin today.  They will have 1PM performances every Saturday, today through March 3rd.  On February 24th and March 3rd they will also have 11AM performances.
