There’s a Get Out the Vote event this afternoon from 4-5:30 at the Buffalo Rose, with many of our Democratic candidates, including Congressman Ed Perlmutter, State Representative Jesse Danielson, and County Commissioner Casey Tighe. Golden’s Mayor Marjorie Sloan will be there too. The event is called “Ballots and Brews.” Be sure to bring your completed ballot with you to the event. After hearing from special guests, they’ll walk to the nearby drop box to return ballots, then enjoy some good food and a beer!

Remember–the Geology Museum is holding their fall Mineral, Book, and Fossil Sale today and tomorrow from 9-4. Thousands of minerals, books, fossils, maps, journals, and more will be available to choose from.

The Railroad Museum is running their Trick or Treat Train from 10-4 today.
The History Museum is offering tours of the Golden cemetery from 10:30-12:30 and 1:30-3:30. Call the museum at 303-278-3557 for ticket information.
The Library will have a Halloween costume parade for kids 6 and under at 11 o’clock this morning.
The Applewood Valley United Methodist Church, 2035 Ellis Street (map) is holding a Fall Festival and Chili Cook Off from 5:30-8 tonight, with carnival games, arts & crafts, face painting, a bouncy house, candy & prizes. All are welcome. Come in costume!
The Golden Gate Grange will have a Family Halloween party at the “Haunted Grange,” complete with a cakewalk, a pinata, and a trick or treat bag for each child. Costumes welcomed! .
The Golden Haunted Hayride will be plying its eerie way through the streets of Golden tonight and tomorrow night from 7 till about 8:30. They make several stops, and you’ll learn some of the spookier elements of Golden’s history. Call 303-277-9222 to see whether there are still spots available.
The Golden Moon Speakeasy is holding their 3rd annual Halloween party, with the Lookout Mountain Boys play from 8-11, raffles and prizes and candy for the kids.

The Lions Club is holding the drawing for the 2016 Harley-Davidson Road King motorcycle tonight at 8PM at the Buffalo Rose. It’s not too late to buy a ticket! Come early and buy one, then stick around to see if you can drive it home! The tickets are $100 each, but they only sell 300 tickets, so your chances of winning the bike are 1 in 300.
