Our weekend revels now are ended.  Hope everyone enjoyed the street fair, farmers market, super cruise, etc.

This week’s city meetings are as follows:

Monday at 7 – The Historic Preservation Board will be considering the “appropriateness” of a garage addition in the East Street Historic District.

Wednesday at 7 – The Planning Commission will be considering several special use permits to allow residents to keep chickens in their yards and one outdoor light and site plan review for a proposed CarMax location on Colfax.

Thursday at 7 – City Council will announce several new appointments, including one for the Marketing Stakeholder Committee, two for the Planning Commission, and one for the Economic Development Commission.  They will also choose the design of our new city flag and discuss the possibility of allowing people to keep chickens and rabbits without applying to the Planning Commission for a special use permit.

The regular meeting will be followed by a study session in which they will discuss an intergovernmental agreement with Foothills Animal Shelter, possible new public art to commemorate the USA Pro Challenge bike race, and a discussion by the City Manager of ways to implement Council’s strategic initiatives for the next two years.
